The IPPC is an international treaty that was installed to promote and confirm action to help prevent the introduction of pests to plant life and to take control of the necessary means for their control. They are governed by what is known as the commission on phytosanitary measures or CPM for short, that adopt international standards for phytosanitary measures, this is known as ISPM. Currently there are 169 governments that adhere to the treaty as of May 15th 2008. The convention has been deposited with the Director General of Food and Agriculture of the United Nations since it's adoption in 1951.
Crate ISPM 15 includes the measures that are
required of the European Community are to practically eliminate
the risk for most quarantine pests such as the Asian Longhorn
Beetle and the Pine Wood Nematode and to significantly reduce
the risk from a number of other pests that may be associated
with that material.
With this in mind wood packaging material (such
as packing crates, cases, boxes, crates, drums and similar
packing's, pallets, box pallets and other load boards, pallet
collars) can only
be imported into the European Community if they meet the crate
ISPM 15 guidelines.
All wood conforming to the crate ISPM15 guidelines should be stamped with the two-letter ISO country code, a code identifying the producer and the code identifying the approved measure applied to the wood. Here at Trojan Crates we confirm to these standards and practices as mentioned in the detailed crates ISPM 15 report. All our cases have the required identifying stamp to prove that they pass these standards. Gaining this recognition is essential when shipping goods to a foreign country and this is why at Trojan Crates we can supply you with not only a quality product and service but also the guarantee of living up to the high standards of the crate ISPM 15.
