There are several procedures put in place by a
constitution to maintain the well being and control of the
introduction of foreign species and planetary arriving in other
countries.
If you are exporting a heat treated crate from the UK you must, for some countries, have a ISPM 15 certificate which proves that the crate has been treated in the correct way and to the specifications outlined by the authorities. All wood conforming to the ISPM 15 guidelines should be stamped with the two-letter ISO country code, a code identifying the producer and the code identifying the approved measure applied to the wood.
Our heat treated crates are correctly produced so that any wood born pests such as the Asian Longhorn Beetle and the Pine Wood Nematode are eradicated and not introduced to a foreign eco system spawning disease, crop and environmental damage etc. We hold the
heat treated crates in a heat of fifty six degrees for a thirty minute minimum,
this is the most popular method of heat treated creates and
other wooden structures such as timber pallets, boxes and crates. All of our
heat treated crates are certified and branded after treatment in our kilns.
If you require heat treatment for some pallets or crates you are using to transport goods abroad you can call us for a no obligation quotation. If you require some treated crates for transporting we can help with that too. We supply a wide range packing crates which are regularly used to ship goods all over the world packing everything from electrical goods to packing supplies.
You can find further information on the ISPM 15 ruling and also what effects the ruling has on our industry, as well as all the other relevant information relating to the correct procedures to follow when shipping to a foreign country, by following these links:
